the displays and interactive exhibits. After a tour guide shares the highlights, explore

A Unique Tour of St Paul Wednesday, 4/10/2024 |
The St Paul Literary Crawl is an enlightening tour, originated by our step on guide.
Many world class writers such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sinclair Lewis, Vince Flynn,
Kent Krueger, Charles Schulz, Kate DiCamillo and others have their roots in the St
Paul area. Our guide will show us pertinent sites and neighborhoods and share how
the city influenced the writers and how they captured the city in their stories. After
the tour, visit the Minnesota History Center and have lunch on your own at their cafe.
The History Center’s featured exhibit “The Life and Art of Charles M. Schulz” has
been well received. Learn about the creation of the Peanuts comic strip and enjoy
the special interactive activities. Take some time to see other exhibits as well. |

Taking Care of Our Earth Tuesday, 4/23/2024 |
Earth Week is a great time to learn about waste reduction and recycling. Today, tour
two different facilities. Recycling and Energy (R & E) in Newport handles all the
trash from Ramsey & Washington Counties and recovers metal for recycling, recovers
resources to make fuel to produce electricity, and recovers organics using robotics.
The other facility, Eureka Recycling Material Recovery Facility in Mpls uses conveyor
belts, magnets, etc, to sort recycled materials into many categories – including paper,
cardboard, glass, & plastics then bundles them to be sold. Tours are on-site and require
signed waivers, sturdy enclosed shoes (no sandals), and involve climbing sets of stairs.
Protective equipment will be provided, ie. hard hats, vests, safety glasses. Such
an educational day! Lunch is included at Keys Restaurant in Roseville. Choice of soup
and ham & cheese sandwich or small roasted turkey dinner. Space is limited. |

Tribute to the Music of ABBA Friday Matinee, 5/3/2024 |
NOTE: Trip has been changed to lunch and matinee. Lunch has been arranged at Liberty’s
Restaurant in Red Wing. Then head to the Sheldon Theatre for an entertaining concert
by ABBAFAB. The talented vocalists and musicians have played to sold-out crowds across
the U.S. and abroad, and are considered the most entertaining ABBA tribute on the
market today! The multimedia production features some of greatest music produced in
the 70s and 80s including hits such as Waterloo, Fernando, Honey Honey, Dancing Queen
